The Vision

The overall principles for development for MK West have already been agreed by Milton Keynes Partnerships, as indicated on the masterplans.

We want MK West to be a vibrant part of Milton Keynes, not only providing homes for people to live, but also offering employment opportunities, community provision and leisure facilities. We are keenly aware and intend to provide the new community with the infrastructure it will require to make is successful.

Key Features

The Council's Local Plan envisaged the creation of three new sustainable communities; MK West is one of these communities. MK West will be a high quality living environment for residents and business, providing a unique urban extension to the west of the city.

The key features of the MK West development are:

• 6,550 new homes (30% will be affordable)
• Two employment areas
• A high street
• Open spaces, parklands and community allotments
• Landscaping of trees, hedgerows and verges
• Three primary schools and one secondary school
• A health and a community centre
• A community house
