Now the Western Expansion Area is moving into the detailed development phase of the site, Gallagher is keen to engage with residents, businesses and other stakeholders to help them decide the future look and feel on the development within MK West.We are in contact with the WEA Stakeholder Forum, a group whose membership represents the interests of the local community and acts as a link between the community, land owner, developer, Milton Keynes Partnership and Milton Keynes Council.
Design Codes
The consultation process with residents and stakeholders undertaken recently at the public exhibition asked people about their views on the Design Codes for MK West.
A Design Code is a principle that sets out with some precision how particular designs and planning principles should be applied in a particular location. Through the introduction of an increased level of design control, a Design Code aims to provide greater certainty and consistency in achieving a high level of quality in the overall look of the new MK West development.
The Design Codes for MK West will include guidance which addresses issues including parks and open spaces, environmental sustainability standards, building materials and features, street furniture and landscaping.
Consultation Chronology
